They are exceptional places there is no doubt in that, but the nafs is within u no matter where u are the zikr silent or loud supresses the nafs, hearing and reciting the names of allaah makes the shaytan flee rendering him unable to fuel that nafs and hence purifying the darkness within, that is just the start, its wierd that all that is seen is men and women mixing and not the zikr bieng recited or heard, Isnt it beautiful. We cannot judge others that is our creator’s job.

You cannot comapre Hac(Mekke and Medina) with other places. They are exceptional places! How much you can trust your nefis(selfness) at the same room which full of women / men? How could you sure the other people’s nefis be same level as you do?

mulana khalid naqishbandi rose from Kurdistan and as we kurds understand his message, it was quite different than what is presented in most of these naqshbandi groups outside Kurdistan. anyone, can shed light on his teaching outside kurdistan?

Before structurate the islam, the Prophet of Allah (saw)were SUFI and had, in that time, 40 followers. You should study more “mishkat” and not be so radical !

have you ever been or seen the pilgrimage in mecca and medina shareef, would you question that mixing. In a state of purity there is no room for shaytan do u agree, i hope that has answered ur question…. p.s zikr is for the heart like water is for the fish.

Salam, would it be possible for a student in sciences of religion to meet the Order and to have an interview with an authority on the meaning of the sacred dance? Can you help in arranging this meeting in the coming months?

To those whom Allah did not guide to His Light: It is futile for you to write any negative comments, because it will be deleted and you will be blocked, so save your energy, don’t waste it, and don’t throw your waste on others…

Salah is a form of ibadat albeit fard, while whirling is a form of sunnah ibadat. One would then have completed the fard before any sunnah is done. Unless you have yourself have experienced the meraj you mention, there is no point arguing about it. If you have experienced it you would not mention it openly as it is a humbling experience being infront of Allah(swt) and such an experience would only be defiled by mentioning your experience of it

varcar111 October 21st, 2009 at 3:41 pm

Could somebody, please tell me where I could buy a video or DVD about Dervish’s whirl, but original from Turkey (Konja) Thak you.

sufi92 October 21st, 2009 at 3:41 pm

The Prophet did not whirl, but the universe whirls arround prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

fgb84 October 21st, 2009 at 3:41 pm

I think it’s funny that people think that sufis replace the salaah with whirling, etc. Salaah is Salaah as passed down by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is a Dhikr, a means of further reching out to the Most Divine. Furthermore, we have in Hadith that upon seeing African muslims celebrate the Glory of Allah through dance in their own language and customs,Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) explained that this was completely acceptable since the Truth and Glory of Allah was in every culture.

jacketyjacketyjack October 21st, 2009 at 3:41 pm

Hmmm… I wonder… Did the Holy Prophet used to… um…”whirl”…? I think…not. THE only universal prayer is salaah which, obviously, has had it’s value thoroughly misunderstood and reduced. But if done right and perfected, honestly, all this whirling will give you not a fraction of what salaah can give. But, obviously, not having perfected salaah and therefore not having experienced the me’raj that is to be experienced by means of it, some of us have gone and tried out other means….
